Is Fancy Wine Better? Blindfolded Taste Test! – Food Feeder

February 18th is National Drink Wine Day. You don't have to ask us twice! Subscribe:

Forget President's Day, at Food Feeder, we're much more interested in the alcoholic holidays. Now that we've absolutely trashed Ti's palate with bacon-flavored booze and homemade pizza cocktails, we thought it would be fun to see how she does in a blind taste test. Can Ti tell the difference between a couple of decent bottles of wine and Charles Shaw (aka Two Buck Chuck)? I don't think you'll be surprised with the results.

Are you new? Then catch up with a few hundred episodes of The Food Feeder:

The Overlords of Tasted.com love feeding you guys what you love, and you love to watch us try foods for you, so that you don't have to (or so you can decide whether to run out and get some). Thus, we've assembled a "panel of experts" to give you a full review of how Two Buck Chuck (Three Buck Chuck?) stacks up against more expensive wines.

How do you think you'd stack up against the Tasted staff in this blind taste test? Are you a wine connoisseur, a wine snob, or are you up for anything, as long as it's 14% alcohol by volume? Would you like to see more blind taste tests here on Food Feeder? TELL US EVERYTHING!!

You guys have got to give the testers water. Flavors bind to taste buds,
and when you introduce new flavors with old, the readings get messed up.
Water (between tastings) helps cleanse the palate.

+MrApollo11 You sir, have obviously never had a really bad wine, or a
really good wine for that matter. There is a big difference. Everything in
between is pretty similar but there is definitely a difference in taste.
Some people have a keener sense of smell and taste than others.

Alright I’ll give you that, but at the same time the quality of wine simply
through what someone thought it tasted is completely subjective, you can’t
say really bad wine to you tastes really bad for someone else. Plus the
weakest of the five main senses we have is taste, so to call yourself a
“professional” wine taster is incredibly stupid.

You need to try a bad wine. You will see what I’m talking about. There are
so many different types of wine as well, that have extremely different
flavors. That is all preference. If the wine is bad though, the flavor
doesn’t matter. It will get drain poured. Trust me.

Could you guys taste test the Carlo Rossi brands and the Paisanno? I hear
some people say its good and others say they would never drink it.

How can you not tell a difference between Chardonnay and Merlot?

    • Beast Warrior

      November 4, 2015 at 7:03 am

+Jen Hatcher I’ve done this to several wine drinkers and none of them were
able to tell the difference. One of them swore he wouldn’t be fooled and he
was. Truth is most people really don’t know what they’re talking about when
      it comes to wine.

The question is can you tell the difference

    • fbevc

      October 17, 2016 at 11:44 am

Beast Warrior the merlot wasn’t properly made then. red wines have a
completly different texture. you could possibly confuse rose and white, but
damn if you can’t tell white from red than boy you thick as mud.

You can say whatever you want, I’ve done it more than once and with
different brands, and had the same outcome 100% of the time. Sorry you
can’t handle the truth, but it is what it is.

when the girls said at the end “i need a proper tasting” she had a proper
tasting we make ij our mind the decision if it is good or not. Even a “Wine
expert” would have guessed them wrong so ppl just drink what ever you want

the test is incorrect, you have to cleanse the palate before trying another
wine with water also, you need to smell something new like the back of your
hand to reset smell. some wines will have a taste that lingers and if you
try a new wine with out cleansing palate you will taste it again.

apparently not if you have it 5 times in a row and think it’s different
