Idk why I always get so nervous watching her, she basically never messes up
    lol

I m always nervous for Beam, I know she will kill it on floor, vault and
bars. but beam anything can happen.

    • TheWrestlingPalace

      June 27, 2016 at 3:06 pm

and the crazy thing is that she is the best in the world on beam she is
world champ but she can never do it like she does in training but day 1 was
      great

It’s like I wait for a mistake. It just doesn’t happen. Very very minor
      things. Shes just…she’s incredible.

+GrangerDangerx Yeah I should know by now that nothing bad will happen. I
am always nervous during beam for any gymnast

Why does she have to compete at trials again??

    • Love Joy

      June 30, 2016 at 11:26 pm

+Loren Montespino it could also be because Gabby is trying to manage all of
her commitments with the sponsors and trying to train at the same time.
Gabby did not have this conflict in London. If you noticed some of the
other athletes aren’t doing as poorly. I wish she and Aly were off the team!

Did anybody see the wink at Shawn Johnson?

    • michelle gravesande

      June 27, 2016 at 3:55 am

no I didn’t but I saw shawns tweet. imagine this girl got time to wink in
the middle of her routine. that’s y she wins she is always happy

    • Nerdy Gymnast

      June 27, 2016 at 4:06 am

+michelle gravesande I think she incorporates winking into her
choreography. She’s winked at people during her floor routine as early as
2014, if I recall correctly. I love that she has the confidence to wink at
      others while she performs!

    • michelle gravesande

      June 27, 2016 at 4:09 am

    • Nerdy Gymnast

      June 27, 2016 at 7:51 pm

+Aviion 1:04. You can’t see the wink here, but you can see it on the TV
broadcast. I think she winks at the camera at 1:26, though.

simone should have got an automatic bid to skip trials.

    • Nerdy Gymnast

      June 27, 2016 at 7:55 pm

No…. Just because I’m going to trials and I want to see the legend in
person! (I know it’s selfish, but I’d be so sad if I didn’t get to see her
in person.) Seriously though, with all of the talk that she should skip
trials, I’m starting to get a little worried that I won’t get to see her.

She said she was winking at Shawn Johnson.

    • MyWayne1993

      November 6, 2016 at 5:29 pm

she winked at Shawn Johnson at 1:05 mark. i know we couldn’t see it from
this angle but i remember clearly she was winking at Shawn while doing that
body roll, which is just before her 3rd tumbling pass.

    Love that leo!

    • Loren Montespino

      June 30, 2016 at 2:29 pm

Yeah, I was just about to post the same thing! That is BY FAR the MOST
flattering leotard I have ever seen her wear. It may sound strange to say
it, but I thought the hombre color pattern was flattering, and somehow it
made her look longer and leaner, softened her frequently stocky and
muscular appearance. The mandarin style collar at the neck helped too. I
just loved that blue fade to smoky grey-black. The decorative work on it
was nice without being overdone. I was just really struck in the first few
moment how much I liked it, as I usually don’t really notice leo’s all that
much. I hope lots of people tell her just how flattering that leo is – my
first thought when I saw her in it was, “That will help with the judges,
make her look more like she has that long&lean figure the judges seem to
      prefer”!

I have realized over the years that judges seem to notice, and penalize,
minor form breaks much more, when the gymnast is built like Shawn Johnson,
or Mary Lou Retton, or Simone Biles. Taller and more slim gymnasts, with
long lean muscles, like Khorkina, Nastia Liukin, Victoria Komova, and many
of the Eastern Bloc gymnast from the 1970’s – 1990’s, seem to be what
judges prefer. Anything that makes Simone look as good as this leotard did
      can only help.

  9. Eduardo Sanz

    June 27, 2016 at 11:33 pm

I know she’s the best in the world right now and she’s unstoppable, but it
makes me kind of sad that in this olympics there’s no competition in the AA
for her, we all know that she is going to be the All-Around Champion, even
it’ll be on VT, FX, BB… it’s worth watching the competition to see her
flying all over the place with her amazing skills, but not for the
competition that we used to see in all olympics, the competition that it
doesn’t exist anymore since she came 🙁

    Just enjoy her show :)

    • jesusthroughmary

      August 1, 2016 at 4:41 pm

+Lindsey Ruiz Agreed. The 10-point scale is still there, it’s reflected in
the E score. Bigger D score wins given the same E score, makes complete
      sense.

    • mmmcounts

      August 4, 2016 at 3:01 am

We’re all lucky that she didn’t come from China, they would’ve arranged for
her to be competing in the 2012 games, which she missed the cutoff for by a
couple of months. Knowing China, they probably would’ve had her in the
      Olympics in 08 too.

    • suplib

      August 8, 2016 at 7:47 pm

She definitely raised the bar for future gymnasts, so they’re going to want
to be like her. Because of that she may have competitors later on

    • AlrightyAaron

      August 14, 2016 at 10:21 am

  10. Cammiboe

    July 4, 2016 at 7:47 pm

As far as gymnasts go she’s not really my cup of tea. I like the really
artistic, graceful, slender gymnasts, but she brings her own flavor to the
sport, and she’s one of the most consistent gymnasts out there.

    • Sco2b

      July 11, 2016 at 12:40 am

+Cammiboe Just admitted that you didn’t know the difference between the
      words artistic and graceful

    • Shannon Louise

      July 13, 2016 at 9:51 am

I agree Cammiboe, there is no denying that Simeone is absolutely fabulous
to watch and her skill, agility, power and presence is unbelievable, no
doubt the best in the world currently. But I love grace and elegance in a
gymnast, Nastia is still my all time favourite gymnast for that very reason!

    • Jupiter Nuvo

      August 9, 2016 at 1:57 am

I am a Simone Biles fan but you are correct she is the best at power and
she is so damn consistant.I also like “artistic” “Graceful” as well i would
love to see Simone incorporate more Ballet etc into her routine maybe later
as she matures. But she is the best in the world hands down.

    • Aaliyah Espinoza-Lewis

      August 12, 2016 at 12:56 am

lol it’s sad when someone is sooooo wrong yet argues their point to the
ground and accuses the correct person that they are a fool for having the
correct point. ummmm but you’re the wrong one hunny so how is Cammiboe a
fool? s/he seems more educated than you on the sport. the basics of
gymnastics requires an understanding of the differentiation between
artistic gymnasts and power gymnasts. come on now. if you cant tell that
simone is a power gymnast then you haven’t ever been a gymnast or you
haven’t watched much of the sport. quite frankly, idk how you keep getting
so much likes on your incorrect comments.
